Regarding "Samaritan evacuates 82 to S.D. (News, Sept. 5):
They say crisis brings out the best in Americans. Just when the Union-Tribune printed alternatives to our city nickname, David Perez came along and reminded us why we do live in "America's Finest City." With no regard to publicity or personal gain, he just did what was in his heart.
Partnering with any group that cared to help from the Red Cross to the Christian Horizon Fellowship, Perez demonstrated a no- nonsense, "cut to the chase" approach. We should all be proud. Our children should watch and learn. Bravo.
